Registered Nurses play a critical role in providing a high standard of care for all residents within our community. These hands-on caregivers work directly to assist residents with daily care needs. They are responsible for supervising nursing assistants and maintaining a high standard of care, accurate record-keeping, and licensing requirements as directed by the Director of Nursing. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of state regulations and medication administration are a must. RNs must be dedicated, compassionate, and respectful.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision of CNAs and LPNs/Med Techs
Provide direct care to residents or delegate care as appropriate.
Administer wound care and treatments as directed.
Report incidents or changes in residents' condition to DON
Ensure proper documentation and accurate resident care records.
Enforce company policies and procedures and state regulations.
Participate in staff training.
Other tasks as requested by the Director of Nursing or Executive Director
Qualifications:1. Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN in this state.
2. Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
3. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such
action.
4. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members,
visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
5. Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as laws,
regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
Educational Requirements:1. Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
2. Current RN License.
3. Meet continuing education requirements to maintain RN License.
Physical Requirements:1. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
2. Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress of the position.
3. Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to
work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
4. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
5. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at
times, hostile people within the facility.
6. Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
7. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
